DMP image recognition engine ZIA™ Classifier is adopted for Hiyari-Hatto (near-miss) image analysis for DENSO TEN Drive Recorder

Digital Media Professionals Inc. (Headquarters: Nakano-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO Tatsuo Yamamoto, hereinafter referred to as “DMP”) announces that its image recognition engine “ZIA™ Classifier” is adopted for the image analysis service of the drive recorders (dashboard cameras) “G500*” and “G500Lite” offered by DENSO TEN Limited (Headquarters: Hyogo-ku, Kobe City, President and Representative Director: Yukihiro Kato, hereinafter referred to as DENSO TEN), and is used for AI processing to detect Hiyari-Hatto (near-miss) incidents from vehicle data the driver is driving.

In recent years, drive recorder installation rate has been increasing year by year triggered by social issues such as tailgating. The video of the drive recorder about dangerous driving has been covered by the various media and is used as an enlightenment and deterrent to prevent dangerous driving. Accordingly, the drive recorder not only plays a role in recording accidents but also have come to play a role as a defense against the risks that occur while driving.

DMP’s image recognition engine “ZIA™ Classifier” adopted by DENSO TEN uses AI/deep learning technology and image processing technology, detects and tracks objects such as lanes, cars, signals, pedestrians from the image of the drive recorder, and makes it possible to make out in more detail what kind of near-miss incident happened at what time and place by combining with various sensor data and GPS data. By updating various AI models such as object detection, object tracking, and lane estimation based on the latest AI papers and combining big data analysis of video and sensor information, ZIA™ Classifier is able to automatically recognize more road surface conditions and traffic conditions with AI, and to realize advanced detection and analysis of dangerous driving.
