Product Overview
Di1 Cam — Maximizing the Potential of Edge AI
HDR Camera Module
Di1 Cam is a high-performance HDR camera module, designed for integration with the Di1 Development Kit, that delivers industry-leading capabilities.
Equipped with OmniVision’s state-of-the-art OX03C10 image sensor, it achieves an outstanding dynamic range of up to 140 dB. Even in environments with intense backlighting and deep shadows, it effectively suppresses blown highlights and crushed blacks, faithfully reproducing textures and colors of the scene.
In addition, its Full HD 60 fps high frame rate captures fast-moving subjects with exceptional clarity, making it ideal for advanced image analysis in applications such as in-vehicle cameras, industrial robots, and surveillance systems. The 125° diagonal wide-angle lens minimizes blind spots and enables wide-area coverage with a single camera.
By combining these characteristics, Di1 Cam provides AI with information beyond what the human eye can discern, elevating edge AI image recognition to a new level. Leveraging Di1 Cam, developers can rapidly build AI camera solutions that achieve higher accuracy and greater efficiency.
Solution
Optimize the “eyes” of AI to maximize recognition accuracy and performance
To fully unlock the potential of edge AI, it is essential to equip it with “eyes” that deliver consistently stable, high‑quality images in any environment.
Conventional cameras cannot adequately adapt to changes in imaging conditions, resulting in unstable AI recognition. Di1 Cam addresses these challenges in front‑lit conditions through its proprietary HDR functionality.
[Stabilized Recognition]
Stable image input regardless of environmental changes
Unaffected by variations in brightness in the shooting environment (such as backlighting or low‑light scenes), it consistently supplies high‑quality HDR images to AI, fundamentally eliminating recognition instability.
[Improved AI Accuracy]
Enhancing learning efficiency through high-definition data
By capturing target objects with greater clarity, we improve the “quality” of AI training data and resolve issues related to data scarcity. This contributes to higher AI recognition accuracy as well as reductions in development and retraining costs.
[System Acceleration]
Eliminating the need for complex preprocessing
By removing the necessity for CPU-intensive post-processing tasks such as brightness adjustment of video images, we achieve faster AI recognition processing and enhanced end-to-end performance across the entire system.
Applications
Automotive / Mobility
Use cases: ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), autonomous driving, drive recorders, surround-view monitors
Features: Sudden transitions between light and dark at tunnel entrances/exits and oncoming headlights at night are areas where AI is generally considered to have difficulty in recognition. Di1 Cam’s phase-based HDR function maintains autonomous and surrounding driving even under these challenging conditions, reliably capturing all objects targeted for AI recognition and delivering highly accurate recognition results.
Robotics / Industrial AI
Use cases: AGV/AMR (Autonomous Guided / Mobile Robots), visual inspection, vision robots
Features: Sharp color differences within factories and variations in color tone between areas can lead to degraded recognition accuracy with conventional systems. Di1 Cam completely eliminates these “color failures.” It stabilizes AGV/AMR control and stop decisions, reduces recognition latency in vision robots while improving recognition accuracy, and directly contributes to higher p
Security and Surveillance Cameras
Applications: Smart cities; crime prevention and surveillance cameras (retail stores and infrastructure)
Features: Entrances located near windows—where the outside is strongly backlit and the interior is dark—have traditionally posed a challenge for conventional cameras. Di1 Cam can clearly capture and recognize both areas simultaneously within a single frame. It converts facial images that used to appear unclear due to backlighting into AI “recognition target areas,” thereby enhancing the reliability of surveillance systems while contributing to the optimization of crime prevention and monitoring costs.
Product Features
-
1.140 dB HDR that captures an overwhelming range of light and dark
The 140 dB ultra-wide dynamic range achieved through 4‑frame synthesis thoroughly suppresses blown-out highlights and crushed shadows in all environments. By adopting the state-of-the-art OX03C10 image sensor, the camera reliably continues to capture AI-relevant targets even under harsh conditions such as tunnel entrances/exits and nighttime headlights.
-
2.FHD 60 fps that never misses fast motion
Supports high-speed recording in Full HD (1080p) at 60 fps. Compared with conventional 30 fps cameras, it offers twice the temporal resolution, delivering exceptionally smooth video. This performance is indispensable for applications requiring precise tracking, such as the high-speed motion of industrial robot arms and accurate position detection of moving objects.
-
3.Wide area coverage with a single unit: 125° diagonal wide field of view
The high‑performance lens with a 125° diagonal field of view secures a wide visual range with minimal blind spots. This enables the construction of efficient systems with fewer cameras for applications such as overhead monitoring and obstacle detection for AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots).
-
4.Compact design and versatility for easy integration
The compact 25 mm square housing facilitates integration into equipment with limited space. The camera supports lens replacement, allowing selection of the optimal angle of view according to application requirements. It employs a highly versatile MIPI CSI-2 interface, enabling seamless connection to the Di1 Development Kit.
