DMPは、ZIA™ Showcaseにより、AI時代に特有の「実際にやってみないとわからない」というパラダイムを破りたいと考えています。通常、新しいAIプロジェクトが始まると、多くの開発者は性能、精度、消費電力がどのようになるか事前に知りたいと考えます。
そのために開発したのがZIA™ Showcase(日本語および英語に対応)です。ZIA™ Showcaseは、DMPが長年培ってきたAI認識モデルのアルゴリズムを含めたソフトウエア技術および半導体開発を含めたハードウエアアクセラレーション技術のノウハウを基に、図1に示すように、試したいAI認識モデルと1つまたは複数のハードウエアを選択後、画像、動画、そしてウェブカメラなどのデータをアップロードすると、性能と消費電力の測定結果をリアルタイムに可視化します。

ZIA™ Showcaseの特長は、実際のデバイス上でAI認識モデルをリアルタイムに実行できることです。それは、単にGPUインスタンス上でAI認識モデルを動作させ、その結果を出力するクラウドベースのソリューションではありません。図2に示すように、ZIA™ Showcaseは、ユーザーがAI認識モデルとハードウエアを選択し、データをアップロードするフロントエンド(ウェブページ)とサーバー、そしてサーバーに接続されたベンチマーク用のハードウエアで構成されています。ユーザーがデータをアップロードすると、サーバーを経由して選択されたハードウエアに配信され、推論処理が行われます。推論処理中は、情報(AI認識モデルの推論結果と性能・消費電力)が収集され、リアルタイムにユーザーに配信されます。

ユーザーのデータは、同一のAI認識モデルを用いて、各ハードウエアで推論処理されるため、各ハードウエアの性能および消費電力の公平な比較を行うことが可能です(図3参照)。

今日(2021年4月)現在、ZIA™ Showcaseは、一般的に入手可能なハードウエアQualcomm® Robotics RB3、NVIDIA® Jetson AGX Xavier™、NVIDIA® Jetson Xavier™ NX、およびDMP ZIA™ C3(当社のFPGAベースのソリューション)をサポートしています。
また、AI認識モデルに関しては、主にDMP独自の安全運転支援向けAIプラットフォーム「ZIA™ SAFE」ならびにZIA™ SAFEを構成する各種AI認識モデルをサポートしています(今後順次追加予定)。

With ZIA™ Showcase, DMP attempts to break the “try and see” paradigm inherent to AI era. Usually, whenever a new AI project starts, most developers want to know beforehand what the accuracy or power consumption will look like.
ZIA™ Showcase (available in Japanese and English) has been developed for this purpose. ZIA™ Showcase is based on DMP’s years of expertise in software technology, including algorithms for AI recognition models, and hardware acceleration technology, including semiconductor development. As shown in Figure 1, after selecting an AI recognition model and one or more hardware, a user can upload data such as images, videos, and webcams to visualize the performance and power consumption measurement in real time.

What makes ZIA™ Showcase special is the ability to run an AI recognition model in real time on actual devices. It is not a cloud-based solution that simply runs AI recognition models on a GPU instance and outputs the results. As shown in Figure 2, ZIA™ Showcase consists of a front-end (web page) where a user selects an AI recognition model and hardware, and uploads the data, a server, and benchmarking hardware connected to the server. When a user uploads the data, it is delivered to the selected hardware via the server, and the inference process takes place. During the inference process, information (inference results and performance/power consumption of the AI recognition model) is collected and delivered to the user in real time.

User’s data is inferred and processed by each hardware using the same AI recognition model, allowing for a fair comparison of the performance and power consumption of each hardware (refer to Figure 3 above).

As of today (April 2021), ZIA ZIA™ Showcase supports the commonly available hardware: Qualcomm® Robotics RB3, NVIDIA® Jetson AGX Xavier™, NVIDIA® Jetson Xavier™ NX, and DMP ZIA™ C3, our FPGA based solution.
As for AI recognition model, ZIA™ Showcase mainly supports ZIA™ SAFE, DMP’s proprietary AI platform for safe driving assistance, as well as various AI recognition models that make up ZIA™ SAFE (more will be added in the future).
