Appointment of Mr.Okamoto, the father of PlayStation 2, as the DMP board director.
DMP is pleased to announce that Mr. Shinichi Okamoto joined DMP as a board director on November 17th. Mr. Okamoto was a Managing Director and Chief Technology Officer of Sony Computer Entertainment and led the development of Play Station 2. Mr.Okamoto's appointment is a significant addition to DMP and along with his network into the industry, this will greatly enhance DMP's ability to develop competitive graphics solutions.
DMP completed series C funding round and raised 1.35 billion yen
(approximately 13 million dollars)
DMP successfully completed series C funding round on September 28th and raised 1.35 billion yen (approximately 13 million dollars).
In addition to all of series A and B investors who continued to fund DMP, 9 new venture capital companies joined series C round. Globis Capital Partners and JAIC are among those new VCs. DMP technology was introduced at CEDEC 2004 by Interactive Brains.
The CEDEC 2004, the largest developer conference for Japanese gaming industry, was held during September 6th and 8th in Tokyo. Mr. Masaki Takeda, the CEO of Interactive
Brains, was one of the keynote speakers and discussed ''The past, present, and the future of 3D & high-end mobile phone contents.'' Interactive Brains is one of the leading game developers in Japan and developed or ported many popular games for cellular phone platform such as Gandam, Ridge Racer, and Deep Labyrinth. In his speech, Mr. Takeda discussed as to how the next generation mobile platform and its contents should look like and presented a DMP developed demo which included advanced skin shader and hair rendering. Interactive Brains and DMP jointly developed these demos to show the future images of the mobile game contents. Mr. Takeda noted Interactive Brains and DMP, who is a pioneer in developing the next generation 3D technology, are together making bold move into the future in taking technology to the next level.
